Volunteers

As a small charity, the Academy of Nutrition Sciences relies on the support and expertise of collaborators and volunteers on its Working Groups to drive its mission forward.

  • Caroline Roberts

    SENr, RNutr

    As a Performance Nutritionist at Loughborough Sport, Caroline supports elite athletes to enhance their physical readiness for competitions. Additionally, as a Growth Manager at Food Matters Live, she focuses on building relationships and identifying revenue growth opportunities in the ingredient sector, food manufacturing, and business services.

    Caroline is a member of the Academy’s Communications Working Group

  • Dr Emily Prpa

    Dr Emily Prpa is an award-winning nutritionist, with a PhD in Nutritional Sciences. Her research has focused on the therapeutic effects of plant-based foods. Today she specialises in nutrition communications.

    Emily is currently the Science Manager at Yakult Science for Health UK & Ireland.

    Emily is a member of the Academy’s Communications Working Group

  • Kate Godber

    Kate has 14 years PR, communications and social media experience, both in-house and agency side, following the completion of her degree in Journalism. Kate now manages the British Dietetic Association’s communications campaigns, including Dietitians Week and Ads and Fads. She also looks after the PR for the association, dealing with all media enquiries and promoting evidence-based nutrition and the role (and benefits) of dietitians far and wide.

  • Remit

    With support from members of our four founding organisations, we are working to raise the visibility and understanding of the evidence base for nutrition through development, publication and dissemination of three key position papers.

    With the support of nutrition-trained volunteers and utilising communications expertise residing within its Member Organisations, an independent social media presence for the Academy is being developed and managed.
