Dr Tara Coppinger

Dr Tara Coppinger is a Conferred Fellow of the Association for Nutrition, a Registered Nutritionist (Public Health) and an Associate Editor at BMC Sports Science, Medicine, and Rehabilitation. She is Global Lead, Academic Constituency Member of the Nutrition Society’s Membership Committee and has been a Research Ethics Committee board member at Munster Technological University (Ireland) for the past ten years. Tara completed her PhD in 2009, which longitudinally investigated the diet and physical activity patterns of British school children as they transitioned into secondary school. Tara has published over 50 internationally peer reviewed articles and book chapters in the field and holds a United Nations Interagency Task Force on NCD’s Award, in recognition of her team’s outstanding contribution towards the NCD related sustainable development goals (SDGs). She is currently leading research in Ireland on the impact of nutrition and physical activity on serious mental illness.
